Summit Lake (Crooked River)

The Summit Lake ( English for " Gipfelsee ") is a lake on the Interior Plateau in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

The lake is located about 50 km north of Prince George in the Omineca region. The U-shaped Summit Lake is drained by the Crooked River to the north. The 13.8 km ² large lake ( which 0.9 km ² island area) with a catchment area of 155 km ² part of the hydrological catchment area of the Arctic Ocean. It is close to the highest Einschartung located in Mexico between the 5636 m high Pico de Orizaba and the others located nearby border to Alaska 5959 m high Mount Logan.

The British Columbia Highway 97 runs along the eastern shore. There is also the settlement ( unincorporated community) Summit Lake.
