Sunset Strip

The Sunset Strip is the part of Sunset Boulevard in the city of West Hollywood. It is situated between the Hollywood district of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.

The Sunset Strip is known for its boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs and nightclubs. The best-known clubs are the Viper Room ( River Phoenix died outside the door of the club ), The Roxy, Rainbow Bar & Grill and the Whisky a Go -Go, where well-known rock bands like Guns N 'Roses occurred and were known. The Sunset Marquis Hotel Hotel is considered the musicians who perform on the Sunset Strip. In the basement of the studio in the Sunset Marquis is set up, created a recording studio in the major music recordings.

During the day, the Sunset Strip is a popular shopping street.

History

In the 1920s came the first night clubs and casinos along the Sunset Strip, because this was outside the city limits and jurisdiction of the Los Angeles County and the stringent regulations of the city were not considered.

The term gloss and glamor described the Sunset Strip in the 1930s and 1940s, as the restaurants and clubs to the meeting place of the rich residents of Los Angeles were.
