Superman (TV series)

Superman is an American animated series from 1988, produced by Ruby - Spears Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The series is based on the eponymous comic book character Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and ran in 1988, the 50th anniversary of the first publication of Superman in the American television network CBS. There were 13 each produced and sent about 22 minute episodes.

The comic book writer Marv Wolfman acted as head writer of the series and developed along with the charge of design comic artist Gil Kane series.

Content

It was the first post- Crisis appearance of Superman outside the comic books, based on changes that John Byrne had introduced in the comic book series in 1986. Thus, it was no longer represented, among others, Lex Luthor as an evil scientist, but as a power-hungry industrialist. The series of performances superheroine Wonder Woman, based on its design contains by George Pérez.

The main story in each episode was about 21 Minutes long, the last 4 minutes was used to illustrate some biographical details from the early years of Superman in Superman Family Album from his adoption as a child up to the first public appearance as Superman.

Production and publication

In the production of Ruby - Spears Productions and Warner Bros. Television led Cosmo Anzilotti, Bill Hutten and Tony Love Director. The music of the series composed by Ron Jones, it was among other things, a re-recorded by an orchestra version of the classic tune by John Williams from the movie Superman used by 1978. In addition, the same monologue was used as in the Superman TV series from 1950 during the opening sequence.
