History

The ship was taken 1987/88 under the hull number 1294 at Wärtsilä Marine Industries in Turku and as Seaward for Kloster Cruise in service. In 1997 the ship in Norwegian Sea was renamed because the shipping company since Norwegian Cruise Line means. In 2005, the parent company Star Cruises, the ship and renamed it SuperStar Libra.

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by four eight-cylinder marine diesel engines of the manufacturer Sulzer driven (type: 8ZAL40S ). The motors act via reduction gear on two controllable pitch propellers. The ship thus reaches a maximum speed of 20 knots. In addition, the ship has two bow and one stern thruster.

For the power supply, four diesel generators, a Wärtsilä and two BMW generators available. Furthermore, two auxiliary or emergency generators, a Deutz and Volvo Penta generator installed.

The vessel has 709 passenger cabins. There are so based on double occupancy cabins accommodation for 1,418 passengers. Total 1,504 passengers can be accommodated.
