Sušice (Uherské Hradiště District)

Sušice ( German Suschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers north of Staré Město and belongs to Okres Uherské Hradiště.

Geography

Sušice is located on the right side of the creek Jankovický creek at the eastern foot of the mountain Mars. To the east lies the wide valley of the Morava.

Neighboring towns are Kudlovice in the north, Spytihněv in the northeast, and Babice Cerony in the east, in the southeast Huštěnovice, Staré Město in the south, southwest, and Traplice Jalubí in the northwest.

History

An archaeological find on the corridor Kocovy occupied a settlement of the municipality during the Mittelpaläolithikums to 80,000 BC

Sušice was probably founded 1252-1321 together with Kudlovice. The first mention of Suzichcz was in 1344, when Robert of Sušices Jitka widow along with her sons and Jaroslav Dluhomil the monastery Velehrad left a country in Hube Suzichcz. Jitka died the same year and was buried in the monastery. Seat of the Lords of the festivals was Sušice Sušice that had been in place Hradiště. Among the possessions belonged to a manor and a part of the village Kudlovice. In 1375 Dětřich was called by Sušice as the owner. 1464, the Court and the toll in Sussicz was listed as an accessory of the goods Buchlov. Two years later Sussicz went over to Jan Mlecko of Zástřizl as collateral possession. In 1603, the first time the manorial mill in Sussicz was mentioned, it was decommissioned in 1848. 1613 acquired the Styrian nobleman Johann Jacob von Rottalblick Sussicz. The following year, he left the farm to Jiří Kužel of Žeravice. In 1671 the city was designated as Sussicze. Until the mid-19th century Sušice remained an independent commodity. After the abolition of patrimonial Sušice / Suschitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Hradisch.

Since 2005 Sušice leads a coat of arms and banners.
