SV Robinhood

The Sport Vereniging Robin Hood is a football club based in Paramaribo ( Suriname), the in SCC Hoofdklasse, the first Surinamese League, plays and with 23 titles is most successful club in the country.

History

The club was founded on February 6, 1945. In the first year after the founding of the Association of SV Robin Hood played in a " Barefoot League ". As a master of this league, the team got a dozen soccer shoes and was able to in the second division of the Surinamese Football Association ( SCC) compete. With the increasing success of SV Robin Hood became the largest club of Suriname and had the reputation of being a club of the common people. 1953 Robin Hood was the first time national champion.

Like all clubs in the Hoofdklasse is the SV Robinhood an amateur team.

Internationally

In the CONCACAF Champions ' Cup of SV Robin Hood reached the finals five times (1972, 1976, 1977, 1982, 1983 ), without being able to win the cup, however.

In the CFU Club Championship, the club championship of the Caribbean Football Union, reached the final of Robin Hood 2005; thereby defeated the Surinamese in the first round of the SV Britannia from Aruba, came without a fight against the North East Stars Trinidad and Tobago on and defeated in the semifinals Northern United from St. Lucia. Stadium
