SV Straelen

The SV 19 Straelen is a German football club from Straelen in the Kleve, near the Dutch border at Venlo.

History

Successful department of the association founded in 1919, the football players, which as biggest successes the two-time promotion to the Oberliga Nordrhein (1996 and 2006) and participation in the first round of the DFB Cup in season 1998/99 ( 4:7 against Fortuna have Dusseldorf ) must be produced.

Other departments are athletics, badminton, handball, karate, swimming, gymnastics and volleyball. The club currently has over 2,380 members.

Standings from the last few years

In the 2008 /09 season the club was represented by two teams in the Lower Rhine league. While the first team finished in fifth place, the second team as 18 and Table were relegated in the national league.

Stadium

Play their home games SV Straelen out on the sports field Roman road. The sports field has three turf fields, one with sitting and standing terrace. The stadium capacity is 2300 spectators.

Basketball

Between 1997 and 2005, basketball was offered in Straelen. 2000 saw the greatest success: Rise of the men's team in the first district league. However, the court in the following season was not perceived. Frequent changes in the division line meant that the department has failed to develop, which then led to the dissolution and deregistration.
