Svengali

As Svengali refers to a person in the background that influenced another person or even manipulated, for example, a particularly influential manager of an artist. The term has a negative staining since its origin in the horror story Trilby by George du Maurier in 1894, in a completely unmusical girl named Trilby is transformed into a singing diva of hypnosis from the demonic musical genius Svengali.
