Sverre Ã…rnes

Sverre Årnes ( born May 14, 1949 in Surnadal, Fylke Møre og Romsdal, Norway) is a Norwegian writer, comic book writer and screenwriter.

Biography

Årnes was used as the second-oldest of six brothers in the Norwegian province (county ) Møre og Romsdal born in the commune Surnadal and grew up in this area with numerous small valleys and villages.

Årnes wrote as a writer since 1978, more than two hundred novels, plus about a thousand short stories and additionally numerous articles as well as translations from English into Norwegian. According to its estimates, more than 3 million copies of his works were sold.

To his well-known novel series he wrote anonymously, was Jordmoren ( The Midwife ). At the same time it was also his first and longest novel series. It was published with 66 titles in Norway in a print run of more than two million copies and also in Poland.

Sverre Årnes wrote from 1994 to 1997, the book series Blodsband [ Blood Ties ] with 25 titles that were published from 2004 to 2005 in Norway again. From 2003 to 2005 he wrote the novel series Vaterlandsjenta [ The women of the homeland ] with 16 titles and the 1987 action thriller COBRA with 8 titles that were released twice. In addition to a further series of novels such as Viking. He also worked as a comic writer for The Phantom comic series and 007 as well as the comic Vangsgutane.

According to the preliminary end of the Norwegian Olsen Gang film series in 1982, he wrote in 1983 as a writer did not realize continuation of an action to Hurtigruten Cuop. Årnes also wrote screenplays for other Norwegian films and short films and 1988 the screenplay for the director Oddvar Bull Tuhus to the movie Blücher. Furthermore, Årnes operated also as a director.

In London, he was honored in 1986 with the " Daily Mail Trophy" as a writer and director and in 2004 he received a gold medal at the Austrian euro movie Movie Competition in Bludenz for his skills as a writer and director and editor. Årnes also wrote screenplays for the Norwegian Radio Theater ( Radioteatret ) by the NRC, and produced documentary films.

2003 moved Sverre Årnes in the home of his wife Florlien Årnes to Philippines. His family lives there at present on the island of Bohol with the parents of his Filipino wife and their daughter Angelina Maria Årnes works in his new home further as a writer for Norwegian publishers.
