Å vihov (Klatovy District)

Švihov ( German Schwihau ) is a town with about 1,600 inhabitants, about 10 kilometers north of Klatovy kraj in Plzeň, Czech Republic.

On the southern edge of the town is one of the largest moated castles in Bohemia, Švihov. The water tower was 1480 probably generously rebuilt under Contribute by Benedikt Ried. The core of the castle form two residential wings. To the east is a chapel in the West is dominated by a mighty tower. The moats are still partly preserved. The castle is open to visitors.
