Svit

Svit a town at the foot of the High Tatras in the landscape is Zips ( Prešov kraj, Slovakia) near the town of Poprad.

The present city is a start-up in 1934, at that time under the name Bátovce (after the Group Bata, who built a settlement for the workers here). First, the place was part of Velka, which is the district of Poprad today. As of 1937 the district was officially Svit ( stands for the abbreviation of " Slovenské vizkózové Tovarne " [ Slovak Viskosefabrik ] ). On June 4, 1946, the municipality was declared to be self-employed. In 1962, she received the city status awarded.

The urban area includes large parts of the former territory of Batizovce, as well as smaller parts of Spišská Teplica, Lučivná and Mengusovce.
