Świętobor, Duke of Pomerania

Suatobor, also Swantibor, was a Duke of Pomerania in the early 12th century.

The only tradition to Suatobor comes from the Chronicle of the Benedictine monk Gallus Anonymus ( † after 1116). This reported that a Suatobor, a relative of the Polish Duke Boleslaw III. Wrymouth overthrown in Pomerania and imprisoned, but then (around 1106/1107 ) to Duke Boleslaw III. was delivered. Presumably this is the same Suatobor Herzog, of which the Chronicle previously reported that he in 1105 in an attack Duke Boleslaw III. had fled to Kolberg.

The Chronicle also reported that a Duke of Pomerania to 1107/1108 in Kolberg the Polish Duke Boleslaw III. has subjected. This Duke was probably not more Suatobor, maybe it was the first time specifically named for 1111/1112 Duke Suatopolk.

No details are known about Duke Suatobor. In particular, it is unknown whether Suatobor Duke was one of the ancestors of the Pomeranian ducal family of griffins, whose first representatives secured the brothers were Wartislaw I. ( † before 1148 ) and Ratibor I ( † 1156 ). It is also possible that he was an ancestor of the line of Swantiboriden.
