Swiss Film Award

The Swiss Film Prize (French Prix du cinéma suisse, Italian Premio del cinema svizzero, Romansh Premi dal film- svizzer ) was awarded for the first time in 1998 at the Solothurn Film Festival. The award of the Film Prize was until 2008 directed by the Federal Office of Culture, together with its partner Swiss Films, SRG SSR idée suisse and the three Swiss Solothurn Film Festival, Locarno and Nyon. In March 2009, the Swiss Film Prize was first awarded during a televised gala at the Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne in ten categories.
