Solothurn Film Festival
The Solothurn Film Festival (SFT ) are the most important film festival for Swiss film. They present since 1966, every year in the program "Panorama Switzerland " a representative sample of Swiss feature films, documentaries and short films. In roundtables and panel sessions discuss the audience and the film industry about the films shown and the Swiss film culture. With over 60,000 spectators each year include the Solothurn Film Festival the most prestigious cultural events in Switzerland. History
The Solothurn Film Festival are among the oldest film festivals in Switzerland and are the most important festival for Swiss film. 1966 organized the film guild Solothurn a conference entitled " Swiss film today." The aim of this event was the creation of new ideas and inspiration for the young, independent Swiss filmmakers. Hence the Swiss Society Solothurn Film Festival was formed ( SGSF ), which organized as an association, the film days.
Even if the film days soon exist half a century, it has been in its history only three directors: Stephan Portmann initiated the festival in 1967, 1987, he was replaced by Ivo Kummer. Following the appointment of grief head of the film section of the Federal Office of Culture (FOC ) by August 1, 2011 Seraina Rohrer was elected as his successor.

Panorama Switzerland
The program "Panorama Switzerland " is the heart of the Solothurn Film Festival, presenting a selection of recent Swiss productions from all language regions, all genres and lengths. The program displays the diverse filmmaking in Switzerland and includes documentary, fiction, experimental, short and animated films, and music videos.
Rencontre
The special program " Rencontre " honors each year a personality of Swiss film, which can look back on an important and extensive work. The program displays selected works of their work and enables a personal encounter. To provide the Solothurn Film Festival the opportunity to get a deeper insight into the work of well-known Swiss cineastes and to address these.

Focus
2012 presented the Solothurn Film Festival for the first time the special program "Focus" to be a focal point with respect to timeliness. In Focus 2012 " Beyond Cinema " came ten films for the demonstration, which explore the boundaries of classical cinema. The view was focused on the current audiovisual landscape at home and abroad to discover new modes of narration and atypical production and distribution forms. The "Focus" is an evolution of the previous program "Invitation", which stood in the context of cultural exchange and cooperation with the neighboring European regions.

Framework Programme
In collaboration with several Swiss film institutions and film associations, there will be a varied program of events such as information sessions, special shows for children as well as topic -specific panel discussions and workshops on issues of Swiss film culture and film industry during the film days. At the Solothurn Film Festival numerous film prizes will be awarded. Prix de Solothurn - Jury Award

Upcoming Lab: 2012 investigated the Solothurn Film Festival, the SRG SSR and the web portals Frischfilm.sf.tv and moncinema.ch the original 60 -second remake of the Swiss classic film "The Swiss makers ." Night of the Nominations

Swiss TV Film Awards
The Swiss TV movie award honors Swiss actor for the best leading role and best supporting actor in a Swiss television production. Each of the four categories is CHF 10,000 each - doped.. The club was founded in 1967 " Swiss Society Solothurn Film Festival " ( SGSF ) is the parent organization of the Solothurn Film Festival.
