Swiss Path

Switzerland's way is the trail 99 created for the 700th anniversary of Switzerland along the Lake of Uri (southern part of Lake Lucerne ) and was established in 1991. The trail begins and ends at Riitli in Brunnen SZ, 35 km long and was designed by all Swiss cantons. Each of the cantons was entrusted to a marked by boundary stones path segment, with its length oriented according to the number of its inhabitants with 5 millimeters per person. In the said order the journey begins with the Swiss founding cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden, and ends with the Canton Jura was founded only in 1979, so the order is determined by the formal accession to the Confederation. It ends in Brunnen SZ on the " Place of the Swiss abroad ."

The road is passable in both directions, the entire walking time is just over eleven hours. The path leads through alpine terrain, but is well developed and secured at critical points with railings and nets and tunnels against stone impact. In dry weather, the path is easy to walk with sneakers, the route Build -Flüelen is even wheelchairs or prams. In case of snow or rain but Fluelen - Sisikon trekking shoes are recommended because of the gravelly steep grades, at least on the track. All stage destinations can be reached by train or ship, and to every village except Tellskapelle there are hotels for overnight stays.

The approach to Riitli (482 m) is carried out with the ship. A gravel path without steps leads uphill through the forest to Seelisberg (801 m). From there it goes south on the terrace of Seelisberg with great views, and then a steep descent down to an old mule with 850 steps to the building. The way of building on Isleten to Flüelen directly on Lake Uri along and is wheelchair accessible. From Flüelen to Tellskapelle it's basically along the lake, but with some up and down to avoid rocks and a promotion and relegation to the old Axenstrasse there with a spectacular view vertically down into the depths of the lake. From the Tell Chapel, you hike on the romantic Bundesrat Hürlimann way from 1983 along with another detour to Axenstrasse up the so-called Urnerloch. After Sisikon a steep rise and then a flat path on the terrace of Morschach be with a view to Riitli, Rigi and Lake Lucerne, where a gentle descent to Brunnen follows.
