Sylvester Heereman
Sylvester Freiherr van Heeremann Zuydtwyck LC ( born September 10, 1974 in Bad Neustadt an der Saale ) is a German religious cleric.
Family
Sylvester Heeremann comes from the old Dutch noble family Heeremann of Zuydtwyck. He is one of six children from the marriage of John Baron Heeremann, President of Malteser International, and the graduate theologian, author and journalist Michaela Dame Heeremann of Zuydtwyck, a daughter of Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg.
His uncle is Francis Baron Heeremann of Zuydtwyck OSB, abbot of the Benedictine Abbey Neuburg in Heidelberg.
Life
Heeremann resigned after his graduation in 1994 in Meerbusch the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ. In 1996 he passed first profession and studied at the convent's Center for Humanistic Studies in Salamanca and at the seminary of the Legionaries of Christ and at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. He was assistant master of novices at the Teutonic location in Bad Münster Eifel. He was secretary of the Territorial Director ( provincial ) and assistant to the rector of the Roman Study Center, Álvaro Corcuera. In 1999 he made his perpetual profession; December 23, 2006, he received the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore by Cardinal Franc Rode CM, Prefect of the Congregation for Religious, the ordination. Heeremann was then local superior of the Legionaries of Christ in Paris and assistant to the territorial director for the apostolate of the Legionaries of Christ in France and central Europe. From 2004 to 2006 he worked at the seminary of the Congregation in Rome.
After reestablishment of the Order of Province of Central Europe, including Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and the Netherlands in 2007 Sylvester Heeremann its first territorial director based in Dusseldorf was. 2011 was the merger with the Province of the Order in Western Europe ( Ireland, France, Belgium and Switzerland ) which he led as Provincial Superior of the Central European province.
On 17 February 2012, he was the Papal Delegate Velasio Cardinal De Paolis CS appointed Vicar General in the Roman religious leadership of the Legionaries of Christ / Regnum Christi and thus follows the Mexican Luiz Garza Medina in office.
