Sylvia Shaw Judson

Sylvia Shaw Judson (* June 30, 1897 in Lake Forest (Illinois ), † 1978) was an American sculptor.

In life she was especially in the area around Chicago known, but their works were also at the Whitney Museum of American Art and in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The sculpture Bird Girl 1936 gained great notoriety when she appeared on the cover of the novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil in 1994 and the movie poster for the same film. Reduced reproductions of the sculpture have since been popular as a garden decoration.
