Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of Bathery

The Eparchy of Battery (Latin: Eparchia Batteriensis ) is a location in India Eparchy of the Syro- Malankara Catholic Church based in Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad, Kerala.

History

The Eparchy of Battery was built on 28 October 1978, Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Constat Paulum VI of annexations of the Eparchy of Tiruvalla and Trivandrum archeparchy assumed as suffragan. On 15 May 2006, the Eparchy of Battery archeparchy Tiruvalla was assumed as suffragan. The Eparchy of Battery announced on January 25, 2010 from parts of their territory establishing the Eparchy of Puthur.

The Eparchy of Battery covers only the Syro -Malankara Catholics in the area. The there is also resident Catholics of the Latin Rite and the Syro -Malabar rite belong to other dioceses.
