Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of Puthur

The Eparchy of Puthur (Latin: Eparchia Puthurensis ) is a located in India Eparchy of the Syro- Malankara Catholic Church based in Puthoor ( Puthur ), Kollam District, Kerala.

History

The Eparchy of Puthur was January 25, 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI. built out of territory of the Eparchy of Tiruvalla Battery and archeparchy assumed as suffragan. First bishop was Geevarghese Divannasios Ottathengil.

The Eparchy of Puthur collected only the Syro -Malankara Catholics in the area. The there is also resident Catholics of the Latin Rite and the Syro -Malabar rite belong to other dioceses.
