Szklary, KÅ‚odzko County

Szklarka ( German: Glasegrund ) is a largely depopulated village in Kłodzki powiat in Poland. It belongs to the urban and rural community Bystrzyca Kłodzka ( Habelschwerdt ), from which it is located ten kilometers south east.

Geography

Szklarka belongs geographically to Glatzer boiler and is located in a narrow valley in the northern foothills of Śnieżnik Mountains. South of the 845 m high Pointed Mountain ( Góra Igliczna ) is the pilgrimage church Maria Schnee. Neighboring towns are Marianówka in the north, to the southeast and Międzygórze Wilkanów in the West.

History

Glasegrund was built on the site of a former glass factory and was first mentioned in 1571. It belonged to Habelschwerdter district in the country Glatzer and was in possession of Mittelshofs in Kieslingswalde. Ecclesiastical it was assigned in 1631 to the parish church in Kieslingswalde. For the year 1700, a mill and nine houses are demonstrated. After the Silesian Wars, it coincided with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. It formed its own borough, in 1802 78 people lived. This year was Glasegrund from a flour mill, 19 pieces people and two cottagers.

After the reorganization of Prussia belonged Glasegrund since 1815 the province of Silesia and was first incorporated into the county of Glatz. 1818 was reclassified in the newly formed district Habelschwerdt. 1874, the rural community Glasegrund was assigned to the newly formed District Kieslingswalde, also belonged to the stone base, Marienau, Neudorf, Plomnitz, and white water. 1939 were counted 32 inhabitants.

As a result of World War II Glasegrund fell in 1945 as almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Szklary. The German population was expelled. The newly settled inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland, which had fallen to the Soviet Union. From 1945 Szklary belonged to the powiat Bystrzycki, which was founded in 1975, as well as the competent until then Wrocław Voivodeship dissolved. 1975, came to the newly formed Province Wałbrzych, which existed until 1998. The village is largely deserted and consists of a farm and a forester.
