Täby

Täby [' tɛ: by: ] is a town in the Swedish province of Stockholm County and the historic province of Uppland.

The city in the Stockholm area, about 15 km northeast of the capital, located, is the capital of the municipality of the same name. The Tätort Täby is located partly in the municipality of Danderyd ( 5286 inhabitants in an area of 258 hectares) and to a small extent in the municipality of Sollentuna ( 7 inhabitants on 3 acres ).

History

With the inauguration of the railway line in 1885, a population growth began. As of 1907, Täby developed into a suburb of Stockholm. In 1912 the town had about 1,000 inhabitants. 1948 Täby was now counting 9000 inhabitants, raised to köping ( market town ).

Townscape

In addition to residential areas with predominantly single family houses, which account for about half of the resort, is located in Täby Sweden's longest block of apartments, Storstugan called. It has seventeen floors and was built in 1970.
