Danderyd Municipality

Danderyd is a municipality ( kommun swedish ) in Sweden, which borders to the south of Stockholm. The municipality is part of the administrative Stockholm County.

History

Danderyd was erected in 1971 by the merger of the municipalities Danderyd köping and Djursholms stad. It consists of four districts Danderyd, Djursholm, Enebyberg and Stocksund.

Economy and Politics

Danderyd is by far the richest municipality in Sweden, since many wealthy Stockholm have settled in one of the villas in Danderyd. The policy in the community is determined for many years by the Conservatives.
