Postal codes in Sweden

The zip codes in Sweden (Swedish: Post number) were introduced on March 19, 1968, consist of five digits, the first three are combined into one group. The first two digits indicate the region to which a shipment is sent, the other depending on the size of the place, the more accurate place name or type of mail delivery. In Sweden every post office has at least one, with several post offices each designated Office received its own ZIP code in places. It serves the departure and the input service.

The higher the first number, the further north, the target region. The "1" is, however, reserved for Stockholm. Approximate geographic location of the postal regions after the first digit:
