The University of Tallinn (Estonian: Tallinna Ülikool ) short TLU or TLÜ - is a state university in the Estonian capital Tallinn with nearly 10,000 students and 500 academic staff.

History
The Tallinn University in 2005 went forth from the Tallinn Pedagogical University and divided by 2008 in six faculties. Since then, the university underwent a far-reaching structural reform and divided today in more than 20 institutes, colleges and schools.
The first rector of the university was the writer and japanologist clean Raud, since 2011 it is Tiit country rector of the university.
