Tamale Metropolitan District

The Tamale Municipal district in northern Ghana is one of 18 districts in the Northern region and extends to small but densely populated area around the city of Tamale, which is the capital of the Northern Region at the same time. The district is located in the center of the region and is the only district in the region, which has predominantly urban character.

Population

84 % of the population depend on Islam, 9% Catholic Christianity. There are also Protestant Christians, including Adventists, and followers of traditional religions.
