The Laguna Tanguiña lies at a distance of seven kilometers west of the Río Iténez, border to Brazil, in the nature reserve Reserva Forestal Iténez. The lake lies at an altitude of 141 m and extends in length to 4.8 kilometers in width up to 2.9 km. Its area is 11.5 square kilometers and the perimeter of the lake is 12.9 kilometers. Administratively, the lake belongs to the province Iténez and is located in the northeastern part of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Baures.

Geography
