Baures Municipality

The municipality Baures is a district in the department of Beni in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality Baures is one of three Municipalities of the province Iténez and is located in the southeastern part of the province. It is bordered on the northwest by the municipality of Magdalena, on the west by the municipality of Huacaraje, on the southwest by the province of Cercado, on the southeast by the Department of Santa Cruz, and in the north east of the Republic of Brazil.

The largest town and a central location in the municipality is the city Baures country with 2,422 inhabitants ( 2001 census ) entirely on the western border of the district.

Geography

The municipality is located in the lowlands Baures on the Bolivian eastern border with Brazil. The climate in the region is characterized by a typical for the tropics balanced temperature curve with only minor fluctuations.
