Magdalena Municipality, Beni

The municipality of Magdalena is a district in the department of Beni in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The municipality of Magdalena is the northern of the three Municipalities of the province Iténez. It is bordered to the west by the province Mamoré, to the south by the municipality of Huacaraje, in the southeast and east by the municipality of Baures, and to the north by the Republic of Brazil.

The largest town and administrative center in the municipality is the town of Magdalena with 4,379 inhabitants ( 2001) in the southwestern part of the municipality. The second largest town is Bella Vista with 2,017 inhabitants ( 2001).

Geography

The municipality of Magdalena is located in the Bolivian lowlands almost one hundred kilometers south-west of the border with Brazil.
