Taras Jurjewitsch Chtei (Russian Тарас Юрьевич Хтей, English transcription: Taras Yurevich Khtey; May 22nd, 1982 in Sokal Sabuschje, Lviv Oblast, Ukrainian SSR ) is a Russian volleyball player.

Career

Chtei arrived at the sports school of his hometown for volleyball. In 1998 he went to Moscow MGTU. With the Russian juniors in 1999 he was World and European champions. In the next two years followed the European title and the Vice World Championship of youth. In 2001, he won the Russian championship with the MGTU team. A year later wanted to change within the capital to VK Dynamo Moscow of the universal player after the runner-up in the league, but what the federation is under said with a reference to an invalid contract. On 29 June 2002 Chtei his debut at the World League game against Cuba in the senior team that eventually won the competition.
