Tartu Ülikooli Korvpallimeeskond ( German Tartu University basketball team ) is a basketball team from Tartu in Estonia. She plays in the Estonian Basketball League as well as in the Baltic Basketball League ( BBL) and belongs to Tartu Ülikooli Akadeemiline SPORDIKLUBI the University of Tartu. The club was founded in 1945 as a university team and was formally 1992-1999 by the University independently, before the University came from February 2000 again as a name and (co - ) sponsor in appearance. Between 2001 and 2011 the team played under the name Tartu Ülikool / skirt or short skirt Tartu.

History

Tartu Ülikool belonged after its founding, first to the dominant teams in Estonia and won to 1959 eight Estonian championships in twelve years. In addition, they won as first single Estonian Union In 1949 the championship of the Soviet Union, in the following years it was in this competition in 1950 and 1951, Second of third parties.
