Tarzan, the Ape Man is an American feature film from the year 1932. It is based on the novel Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Alternative Title: Tarzan, the ruler of the jungle.

Action

James Parker is a big-game hunter. He pulls through Africa in search of the great, legendary graveyard of the elephants. His daughter Jane accompanied him with her fiance Harry Holt. The expedition is disturbed by a white ape-man. Tarzan lives in the jungle with monkeys since childhood. He kidnapped the pretty Jane in his jungle home high in the trees. The girl is afraid at first, but then finds confidence in Tarzan. She notes that he does not speak a word of English, and teaches him the first words I Tarzan, You Jane. Background

Tarzan, the Ape Man is the first Tarzan movie of Metro -Goldwyn -Mayer and the first Tarzan movie with the swimming Olympic champion Johnny Weissmuller in the title role. In 1922, he had swum the first human to 100 meters in under a minute. However, there had previously been several Tarzan movies.
