Doris Lloyd

Doris Lloyd ( born July 3, 1896 in Liverpool, England as Hessy Doris Lloyd, † May 21, 1968 in Santa Barbara, California ) was a British character actress in film, television and theater. She played from the 1920s to the 1960s in some 200 British and American cinema and television productions. Among roles in films such as Lullaby, Tarzan, the Ape Man, My name is Julia Ross, The Double Life of Walter Mitty or The Time Machine.

Life and career

Doris Lloyd, born 1896 in Liverpool, had their first appearances as an actress in 1914 with the Liverpool Repertory Theatre Company. From 1916 to 1925 she appeared in her home on a regular basis in well-known stage plays. In 1920, she entrusted moreover, the British director George Dewhurst with the lead role in his thriller The Shadow Between. In 1922 she played in England another starring role in the silent film Love's Influence of director Edward Gordon.
