Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County

The Tajik Autonomous District Taxkorgan is an autonomous group of Tajiks in the district of Kashgar in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It has an area of 24,088.82 km ². In 2008 he was one of about 40,000 inhabitants, mainly Tajiks, Kyrgyz, Uyghur, Han and Hui. Its main town is the large village Taxkorgan (塔什库尔干 镇), which is located 1765 km away from Urumqi.
