Tatabánya

Tatabánya [ tɒtɒba ː ɲɒ ] ( German Totiserkolonie ) is a 70 003 inhabitants ( 2012) A city and county seat of Komárom -Esztergom in the North West of Hungary. The city is located 52 km west of Budapest. Its location is a transport hub. The M1 motorway ( European highways E 60, E 75 ) Vienna -Budapest touched, the railway line Vienna -Budapest runs through the town.

History

Not only from the ancient times are here traces of people to find, even the people of the Celts, Romans, Goths and Lombards were once located here. Remains from the time of the Huns by around 900 AD have also been discovered here.

Up to the time around 1700, the area as a result of the Turkish wars was hardly inhabited. From 1727 the land belonged to the Count József Esterházy, who called 1733 settlers from the Holy Roman Empire of the German nation into the country.

The three historical predecessor settlements of the city are under Galla ( Alsógalla ), Upper Galla ( Felsőgalla ) and Bánhida. Under Galla was, Upper Galla built from 1733 from 1735 from the resident Germans. After surveying the mines after 1900, a mining colony and later the church was Tatabánya. On October 10, 1947, the four municipalities of Upper Galla, Galla sub, Bánhida and Tatabánya were united to the city Tatabánya.

The former district Partizántelep ( German partisans settlement ) was built around 1940 for the miners and existed until the 1970s.

The industrial character of the city dominated by the political change in Hungary. Since then, the importance of heavy industry and mining has declined significantly, and the economic structure of the city has changed.

Sports

The famous football club in the city is FC Tatabánya. Successes achieved and the handball team of Tatabánya Carbonex KC, in which the earlier active in the Handball - Bundesliga TBV Lemgo László Marosi has worked as sports director now. Gained international recognition of FC Tatabanya in 1986, as part of a European Cup match against Rapid Vienna throughout the game the chants were heard on television.
