Taylor Dent

Taylor Phillip Dent ( born April 24, 1981 in Newport Beach, California ) is a former American professional tennis player.

Career

Taylor Dent began his professional career in 1998. According to some successes in smaller tournaments he succeeded on July 7, 2002 in Newport, his first title on the ATP Tour. His most successful year was 2003, when he won three more titles. In 2004 he reached the final of Tokyo, but lost to Jiří Novák 7-5, 1:6, 3:6. Two more finals he succeeded in 2005 in Indianapolis and Adelaide. In the doubles competition, he reached in 2004 along with Alex Bogomolov junior, the finale of Beijing.

For the U.S. Davis Cup team, he played in the 2003 season in the match against Croatia a single game, which he lost to Mario Ančić 1-2.

2010 Dent presented both at the French Open and Wimbledon with impact velocities of 240 km / h or 238 km / h in each case a new tournament record. At the end of the 2010 season, he finished his professional career.

Private life

Taylor Dent is the son of Australian Open finalist in 1974, Phil Dent.
