Taylor Hicks

Taylor Reuben Hicks ( born October 7, 1976 in Birmingham, Alabama) is an American soul singer, songwriter and musician. His breakthrough came in early 2006 by winning the fifth season of American Idol in.

Career

Taylor Hicks grew up in the state of Alabama, and developed his musical talent without any formal training. His interest was primarily in the soul and R & B music, especially Ray Charles was one of his musical heroes. His first music competition he won in high school. Then he began to study economics at Auburn University, but the study then broke in favor of a musical career and moved to Nashville.

Already in 1997, a live album was released under the title In Your Time.
