Tchirozerine
Region
Tchirozérine is a town and the capital of the eponymous department Tchirozérine in Niger.
Geography
Tchirozérine is located at the junction of the Sahel to the desert zone of the Sahara. The neighboring municipalities are Dabaga the east and Ingall in the West. The urban area is divided into eleven districts, 58 administrative villages, a traditional village, two hamlets, 29 warehouses and 13 water points. The eleven districts are Camna, Carré, Cité Sonichar, Dan Guiwa, dragage, Intamadet, Islamique, Mission, Sabon Gari -, Tamadé and Tchiro Centre.
History
Tchirozérine in 1983 the capital of the newly created arrondissements Tchirozérine, later department of the same name. 2009 tried flooding damage, of which over 20,000 inhabitants of the city were directly affected. From the floods in West and Central Africa 2010 only the administrative village Toumga II was hit in Tchirozérine: where 351 villagers were classified as disaster victims.
Population

Culture
In 2010, the Aïr Festival was first held in the village belonging to Tchirozérine Agarouss instead, which was founded in 2001 in Iferouane.
Economy and infrastructure
In search of uranium, coal deposit was discovered in 1964 at Anou Araren Tchirozérine. Since 1980, every year about 160,000 tons of coal are mined in open pit mining. In the city there is an important, operated by state-owned enterprises Sonichar coal-fired power plant, which ensures the power supply to the uranium mines of Arlit and the cities Tchirozérine and Agadez.
The Old Roman Catholic Mission in Tchirozérine maintains a primary school, which was attended by many later working in responsible positions members of the ethnic group of the Tuareg. Tchirozérine is the seat of the Tribunal d' Instance, one of the nation's 30 civil courts, which is below the ten civil courts of first instance (Tribunal de Grande Instance ) are.
