The Team New Zealand is a New Zealand sailing team.

The Team New Zealand, named after the main sponsor since 2006 Emirates Team New Zealand won the 1995 at the fourth attempt against Young America in San Diego 5-0 in the America 's Cup in Auckland in 2000 and defended it 5-0 against Luna Rossa from Italy. But shortly after the defense left the key figures Russell Coutts and Brad Butterworth, Team Alinghi and switched to competitors, which the team collapsed and more sailors left the team. In 2003, the team lost the America's Cup in Auckland 5-0 against Alinghi. The former main sponsor SAP withdrew it. Only after the New Zealand government promised funding the team, it was the 32nd America's Cup in 2007 to participate in Valencia, where it again lost 5-2 in the final against Alinghi. Mid-February 2009 Emirates Team New Zealand won the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series held in Auckland against Alinghi. The current skipper Dean Barker is the New Zealander, who holds this position since 2000 and is since 1995 member of the team.
