Teddy Riley

Edward Theodore " Teddy" Riley ( born October 8, 1967 in Harlem, New York) is an American singer-songwriter and producer, and is considered the founder of the New Jack Swing. Through its collaboration with artists such as Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Doug E. Fresh, Keith Sweat, Heavy D, Jane Child, etc. and as a member of the groups Guy and Blackstreet, Riley influenced the styles of Contemporary R & B, Hip- Hop and of pop music.

Life

Teddy Riley grew up in New York in Harlem. With three years he started playing drums, with the fifth, he played guitar and trumpet and piano at age eight. Riley later played in various bands in New York. He produced 1986 Kool Moe Dee's single, " Go See the Doctor ". The song was distributed through independent label and reached number 89 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Music Charts

Career

In 1987, Riley along with Aaron Hall and Timmy Gatling, the R & B group Guy. With their music were Guy pioneers of New Jack Swing. This is the style used Riley already in his collaborations with among others Johnny Kemp (Just Got Paid ), Bobby Brown ( My Prerogative ) and Keith Sweat ( Make It Last Forever ). 1989 Big Daddy Kane's Riley -produced " I Get the Job Done" and other works for The Jacksons, The Winans and James Ingram.
