James Ingram

James Ingram ( born February 16, 1956 in Akron, Ohio) is an American soul musician, songwriter and producer.

Life

James Ingram brought a self-taught piano, guitar, electric bass, drums, and synthesizers at and began his career in the early 70s with the group Revelation Funk. In 1980 he contributed the lyrics for two tracks ( Just Once One Hundred Ways and ) for the album The Dude by Quincy Jones. Both songs became established as hits in the United States. With Patti Austin in 1981 he took on the ballad Baby, Come to Me, who managed 1983 to number one in the United States. Another duet of the two, How Do You Keep The Music Playing? reached the following year also the charts ( U.S. No. 45 ).

In 1982, he co-wrote with Jones the title PYT (Pretty Young Thing ) for Michael Jackson's hit album Thriller. In 1983 he recorded his debut album It 's on your night stand, which included the ballad There's No Easy Way and the hit song with Michael McDonald Yah Mo Be There. In the following years he collaborated with renowned artists such as Ray Charles and Natalie Cole. His greatest successes were Somewhere Out There (1986 ), a duet with Linda Ronstadt, which can be heard in the animated film An American Tail, hikers, and the U.S. number -one hit I Do not Have The Heart (1990). He also won two Grammys in 1982 and 1985. Overall, he brought it on ten hits in the American pop and 20 hits on the R & B charts. Here he placed in 1995, the last time: With Anita Baker sang for the soundtrack to Forget Paris the ballad When You Love Someone ( No. 71 ).

In 1985 he took part in the project " USA for Africa " and sang in the world success, " We are the World " written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, one stanza.
