Kim Carnes

Kim Carnes ( born July 20, 1945 in Pasadena, California) is an American musician and composer.

Beginning of singing career

Kim Carnes was from 1962 to 1970 a member of the New Christy Minstrels folk band, in which the passage of time also played musicians such as Kenny Rogers, John Denver, Barry McGuire, Gene Clark ( The Byrds ) and Larry Ramos (The Association). Here she met her future husband and occasional songwriting partner Dave Ellingson, whom she married on 25 November 1967. In the same year Carnes tried unsuccessfully in the film business: In C'mon, Let's Live a Little, she played alongside musicians like Bobby Vee and Jackie DeShannon. Four years later, Carnes was allowed to take part in the soundtrack to the hit movie Vanishing Point ( Vanishing Point San Francisco): The song Sing Out ​​for Jesus, written by Carnes, was sung for the soundtrack of Big Mama Thornton. In contrast, Nobody Knows, was published a composition by Mike Settle, Dave Ellingson as duet. The first successes
