Telecí

Telecí ( German Teletz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-west of Polička and belongs to Okres Svitavy.

Geography

Telecí is located in the southeast of the Saarer mountains. The village extends over six kilometers along the creek Telecký creek from its source to its mouth in the Svratka. The associated with Bohemia village is located just north of formed by the passage of Svratka historic border with Moravia. To the north rises the Lucký vrch ( Lutz Mountain, 739 m), south of the current ( Stromberg, 771 m) and northwest of the Landráty ( District Mountain, 743 m).

Neighboring towns are Dědek, Borová, Pribylov and Oldřiš in the north, Sádek in the east, Korouhev, Maksičky and Kateřinky the southeast, Lačnov Borovnice and Kutiny in the south, Spělkov, Krasne and Mrhov the southwest, Maděra, svety and Březiny in the west and Pustá Rybná, Landráty, Kobylí and Betlem in the northwest.

History

After the founding of King Polička by Přemysl Otakar II in 1265, the colonization of the forest began in the border area to Moravia by German settlers. Probably Telecí was created in the 13th century. The first written mention of Teleczie dates from the year 1403. At that time already passed the church, which included a large parish. In the Hussite Wars died out Catholic Diocese Litomyšl. The residents had become Utraquist and joined the Brethren movement whose center and episcopal seat in Litomyšl was. After the Battle of White Mountain began recatholicisation and many of the brothers fled to the mountains of the Highlands. The desert land was resettled after the war, there emerged numerous Vierseithof. Within the closed courtyards they could go unnoticed practice their Protestant faith on. After Josephine tolerance patent of 1781 were most of the inhabitants of Teleczy to Protestantism and established a Protestant church.

After the abolition of patrimonial Teleczi formed with the districts and district Mrhov 1850 a municipality in the administrative district of Polička. In 1961 the place to Okres Svitavy, at the same time Mrhov was umgemeindet by Krasne. In 2002 Telecí was awarded the European competition Entente Florale Europe with a silver medal. Since 2003, the municipality performs a coat of arms and banners.

  • This 14th- century Catholic Church of St. Mary Magdalene, together with its fortified tower separate from the center of the circular landscaped cemetery.
