Tenterfield is located in the extreme northeast of the country about 720 km north of the city of Sydney and 270 km south-west of Brisbane. The area covers 104 districts and towns, including Bismuth, Black Swamp, Bolivia, Boonoo Boonoo, Bryans Gap, Bung Ulla, Clifton, Deepwater, Leech's Gully, Legume, Liston, Mingoola, Mole River, Sandy Flat, Sandy Hill, Silent Grove, Sunnyside, The Scrub, STANNUM, Stone Brook, Tarban, Tenterfield, Torrington and Tungsten. The seat of the Shire Council is located in the town of Tenterfield in the center of the LGA, where about 3,100 inhabitants.

Management

The Tenterfield Shire Council has ten members who are elected by the residents of the five Wards ( two each from the Wards A to E). These five districts are set independently of the villages. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
