Teodoro Fernández

Teodoro Fernández Oswaldo Meyzán ( born May 20, 1913 in Cañete, † September 17, 1996 in Lima) was a Peruvian football player.

Childhood and youth

His childhood was spent Lolo with his mother Raymunda Meyzán and his father Tomás Fernández Cisneros. He was nominated for the national team of Peru and played as a 17 -year-old for the first time at Universitario de Deportes.

National team career

Lolo was captain of the Peruvian national team. He participated in the Campeonato Sudamericano 1935, 1937, 1939, 1941 and 1942 for Peru. In 32 appearances for Peru, he scored 24 goals with which he was Peru's 1978 Top scorer until June 11. He was then surpassed by Teófilo Cubillas that his international goals number 24 to 26 scored in the World Cup match against Iran and is up to date with these scorer Peru.
