Terence Brain

Terence John Brain ( born December 19, 1938 in Coventry, United Kingdom), Bishop of Salford.

Life

The Archbishop of Birmingham, Francis Joseph Grimshaw, ordained him priest on 22 February 1964 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on February 5, 1991 Titular Bishop of Amudarsa and auxiliary bishop in Birmingham '. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Birmingham, Maurice Noël Léon Couve de Murville, on April 25th of that year; Co-consecrators were Joseph Gray, Bishop of Shrewsbury, and Crispian Hollis, Bishop of Portsmouth.

On 2 September 1997 he was appointed John Paul II appointed Bishop of Salford, the solemn inauguration ( enthronement ) was held on 7 October of the same year.
