Terrassa
Terrassa ( cat. [ tərasə ] ) ( Barcelona Province ) is a modern industrial city with a historic town center in Catalonia (Spain) and located 28 km north- west of Barcelona.
With 215 055 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) it is one of the larger towns in Catalonia. She took much part in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century.
Geographical Location
The city is located 286 m ü.d.M.
Terrassa is located in the comarca of Vallès Occidental and is held together with the nearby town of Sabadell at the administrative center of this circle and the capital of comarques.
Attractions
The town is mainly influenced by the architectural heritage of the Middle Ages, as well as from the Modernisme ( Catalan Art Nouveau ). In addition, there are numerous witnesses (industrial buildings, chimneys ) from the time when Terrassa was one of the leading cities of the industrial revolution.
