Terry Hands

David Terence " Terry " Hands ( born January 9, 1941 in Aldershot ) is a British film director.

Terence David Hands studied, after his schooling at the Woking Grammar School, at the University of Birmingham and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art ( RADA ).

In 1964 he founded the Liverpool Everyman Theatre. Terry Hands was committed in 1966 by the Royal Shakespeare Company, to direct the touring company Theatregoround. He was together with Trevor Nunn in 1978 and 1986, the artistic director of the sole director. His decision, in winter 1990/1991 to include the stages of the RSC at the Barbican Centre was crucial for the RSC in order to obtain an increased subsidy by the Arts Council. In 1997 he became head of the Clwyd Theatr Cymru, showing his work mainly on tour in Wales and the rest of Britain.

From the marriage with the French actress Ludmila Mikaël their daughter Marina Hands, who like her mother moved to acting came from. In October 2001, he resigned from his position as head of the Advisory RSC.
