Tertnes IL
Tertnes Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club, which was founded on 25 January 1953. Initially consisted of the sports facilities from football, handball and athletics. Nowadays, there are also the departments gymnastics and alpine skiing.
Handball
The women's handball team Tertnes IL plays since the 1993/94 season in the Elite series, the highest Norwegian league. In the 1998/99 season Tertnes took part for the first time at the European Cup, and reached the semi-finals at the same time in the EHF Cup. A season later they took part again in the EHF Cup and made it to the finals, where they were but the Spanish team El Ferrobus Mislata inferior. In the 2001 /02 season Tertnes reached the final of the Norwegian Championship, but lost 18:21 against North beach IF.
