Animal - The animal in man ( The Animal ) is an American comedy film directed by Luke Greenfield from the year 2001.

Action

Marvin Mange is civilian employee of the local police, where he is responsible for the evidence room. He often dreams of a career as a police officer, but failed so far always on the fitness test. After a car accident, he is rescued by a scientist who actually works with animals. In order to save Marvin's life, he implanted his animal organs. Marvin, who has not notice anything, now presents more often an animal's behavior on the day. With his new physical abilities Marvin now manages the fitness test and is a real cop. He even gained some recognition as he can, thanks to his nose to expose a drug smuggler. Privately, it always runs better for him, he falls in love with the attractive animal rights activist Rianna. But soon there will be problems for Marvin, are torn as cows and he can not remember the supposed dream last night in which is exactly what happened. Unfortunately, there has been a witness of his nocturnal action that has seen Marvin and denigrated him by his boss. Marvin is suspended and faces soon a mob of neighbors opposite, who wants him goaded by his ex-partner Sisk, lynch.

The film was shot in Los Angeles, Agoura Hills and in Sonoma. Its production costs amounted to approximately 22 million U.S. dollars; he played in the cinemas of the USA, an approximately 55.76 million U.S. dollars.

Reception

The lexicon of international film wrote that the " slapstick comedy", "every subtlety foreign." Rob Schneider shy " can handle any dirty joke ."

Peter Travers wrote in Rolling Stone magazine on 7 June 2001, the film is indeed funny, but only for five minutes.

Awards

The film was nominated in four categories for the Taurus Award 2002.
