The Creepshow

The Creepshow is a Canadian band from Burlington ( Ontario) in the metropolitan Toronto area. In the majority of their lyrics they sing about horror movies and, the individuals monster. The band is considered as the most important psychobilly band in Canada and occurs worldwide.

Band History

The band was formed in Burlington, Ontario in 2005. The four founding members came from the punk scene and combined mainly punk rock and rockabilly, the two main influences of the genre Psychobilly, supplemented, however, by the ska influences and own ideas. The lyrics are - how often in Psychobilly - influenced clear from the outset of horror films and act as zombies. This approach kept the band until 2010 released album They All Fall Down at.

The first album was released in 2006 under the label Stereo Dynamite, which was recorded shortly afterwards in the distribution of EMI. Numerous concerts, even outside of Canada did the rest to get the band quickly made a name for himself. Even critics judged the album positive. The German magazine Ox- fanzine called The Creepshow 2007 as " psychobilly Newcomer of the Year " in addition to Rezurex.

2007 singer Hellcat was pregnant, got out of the band and was replaced by her younger sister Sarah Sin. Initially it was planned that Hellcat should return to the band. However, this did not happen, instead she later formed her own band, Hellcat and the Prowl. Sarah has been a permanent member.

2008 appeared the second album of the band, Run for your Life. The magazine Sonic Seducer called The Creepshow, in a review of the album as one of the best psychobilly bands with female singers. Also in the Ox- fanzine appeared again a very positive review, the author sees the band in addition to the Rezurex at the top of the genre, and while the online magazine Laut.de The Creepshow in a review of Sarah Sins solo album as " inconsequential blend of psychobilly and zombie texts " criticized contradicts another reviewer and thinks the band custody " throughout a good mood and a good deal of dancing feet. " Through the album, the band Hellcat Records drew attention to himself and signed the following year as the first Canadian band signed a contract with the label.

The third album of the band, They All Fall Down, was released in 2010. Lyrically play the typical psychobilly topics like zombies on this album only a subordinate role. On July 16, 2012, Sarah Blackwood adopted in their Youtube channel by their fans. She leaves the band around on her own solo career and her band " Walk off the Earth" to focus on. As a new singer was then Kenda member of the band.

On 23 July 2013, the band announced that the Cologne guitarist Daniel flame is the new part of the band. After he was already several years touring guitarist for the band, he was accepted as an integral part of the band.
